RVI field courses are intensive, seminar-based events providing a fast track introduction to the history, culture and political economy of three sub-regions: Sudan and South Sudan; the Horn of Africa; and the Great Lakes. Participants in RVI courses are eligible for three graduate course credits in the US university system. Teachers on the three courses include internationally-known specialists, researchers and activists from Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
